Abstract
The spontaneous emission properties of a five-level nanoparticle embedded in double-band photonic crystals (PCs) with defect modes are investigated by considering the anisotropic dispersion relations at the band-gap edges. Via numerical calculations, it is shown that several interesting features such as spectral-line enhancement, spectral-line suppression, spectral-line narrowing, the appearance of dark lines, and multi-peak structures can be observed in the spectra.
