Abstract
Spontaneous dissection of the internal carotid artery (ICA) is an uncommon event but is increasingly recognized as a cause of cerebral ischemia in relatively young adults.1-4 Pulsatile tinnitus is often associated with dissections of the ICA, a fact well described in the neurology and vascular surgery literature.1-3,5,6 However, this entity has received little attention in discussions of pulsatile tinnitus in the otolaryngology literature.
