Abstract

Spontaneous bleeding into the vas and epididymis without associated scrotal pathology has not been reported previously. An enlarging, nontender, firm beaded mass was noted in the left hemiscrotum. Because of an absent kidney on the ipsilateral side, congenital causation was suspected. Since a neoplasm could not be ruled out, surgical exploration was performed. Pathologic examination revealed an organized clot filling the lumen of the epididymis and vas with no other intrascrotal pathology.
