Abstract

This chapter studies splitting frequency in magnetic coupled resonant systems. The splitting frequency response in several antenna schemes is presented. Magnetic resonant coupling system based on strong coupling technique [1] has recently opened a new research in the wireless power transfer application. Unlike typical wireless inductive coupling, strong resonant coupling between two identical coils can allow for more transmission distance and freedom of position between the transmitter and receiver as well as enhancement of the performance in the power consumption. Many companies (WiPower, Powermat, etc.) use this technique to develop wirelessly charging electronic products such as batteries, smart mobile chargers, and consumer electronics. Required power of the products can be categorized in three levels as small, medium, and high power [2]. Two important aspects in the operation of the wireless power transfer are required to get maximum power transfer and maximum system efficiency [3].
