Abstract

Numerical quadrature formulas are developed which are intermediate between the classical Hermite and Euler–Maclaurin formulas in terms of the functional data they use. Like the two classical formulas, the new ones are best in the sense of Sard. The formulas arise from a certain cardinal Hermite spline interpolation problem.
