Abstract

AbstractPhiladelphia‐negative myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) are significantly associated with the development of splanchnic vein thrombosis, which leads to portal hypertension. Here, we report two rare cases of portal hypertension caused by essential thrombocythemia (a type of MPN). Splenic artery embolization was performed to prevent variceal rebleeding, and during follow‐up, no rebleeding occurred in these two cases.
