Abstract
The aim of the study is to Spirulina protective effects against acute Fenitrothion-induced toxicity in rats. The objective of a present investigation has been to determine if Spirulina could protect male Wistar albino rats from the toxic effects of Fenitrothion by acting as an antioxidant and hepato-nephroprotector. The toxic effects of DLM are significantly influenced by oxidative stress. In numerous earlier interventions, antioxidants are useful in reducing DLM-induced toxicity. Spirulina is a strong antioxidant that has the potential to lessen the effects of numerous common chemotherapeutic drugs and insecticides. It is evident from the current study that DLM exposure caused variable changes in serum biochemical indicators, levels of lipid peroxidation, and the inhibition of antioxidant enzyme activity. In terms of biochemical changes in blood and tissues, antioxidant enzyme activity, and oxidative stress, AP pre-exposure offered almost full protection.
