Abstract

We present GCT in the scaphoid which is a rare site of occurrence. The lesion showed trabeculation and expansion which is also unusual as most carpal bone radiological appearances of GCT described have been lytic lesions without significant expansion. The differential diagnosis for expansile cystic bone lesions includes benign cystic lesions (aneurysmal bone cyst, GCT, enchondroma), brown tumour, fibrous dysplasia, infection, or related to arthritides, but histology is usually necessary as there are no specific radiological signs for GCT in the carpus.
