Abstract

The major parameters of active galactic nuclei (AGN) with maser emission— the magnetic field in the maser emission region and the spin of the central supermassive black hole (SMBH)— are examined. The spin is calculated using two physical models for the generation of relativistic jets: the Blandford-Znajek (BZ) and hybrid Meier models. These calculations indicate that some AGN have retrograde rotation of the black hole. The magnetic field in the maser emission region is calculated using generally accepted models for the accretion disk. Our estimates show that the magnetic field in the megamaser emission region is bounded above by 1 G, in agreement with observational data.
