Abstract
Using high resolution THz spectroscopy, the authors study spinon confinement in the weakly coupled antiferromagnetic chain compound SrCo${}_{2}$V${}_{2}$O${}_{8}$. The confined spinons appear in a hierarchy that can be fully described by a one dimensional Schr\"odinger equation with a linear confinement potential.
