Abstract

In this issue of Neuron, Pilotto etal.1 use state-of-the-art invivo imaging in mice to show that excitatory/inhibitory imbalance drives SCA1 pathophysiology, with hyperexcitable molecular layer interneurons overinhibiting Purkinje cells, leading to hallmark neurodegeneration.
