Abstract
It is argued that four-dimensional lattices based on the (co)roots of the exceptional Lie algebra F 4 are singularly well suited for the regularization of scalar fields. For the study of the strongly interacting sector of the standard model with a heavy Higgs particle a specific Madelung constant will be needed. This number is evaluated for the F 4 coroot lattice.
