Abstract

AbstractSpindle cell carcinoma (SpCC) exhibits dual features of malignancy, with the histology of squamous cell carcinoma and sarcoma‐like proliferation of spindle cells. SpCC development in the oral region has rarely been reported. Skin grafts are frequently applied to defects following superficial cancer resection. We encountered an extremely rare case of SpCC that developed in the central part of a skin graft, which was applied after superficial tongue cancer resection. SpCC may develop on skin grafts and is not limited to the oral mucosa in the oral cavity. Therefore, long‐term observation should be done carefully because skin grafts change over time.
