Abstract

(Anesth Analg. 2022;135:617–624) Moyamoya disease (MMD), a rare cerebrovascular disease causing the vascular network at the brain’s base to be fragile, requiring careful blood pressure control and proactive medical treatment to prevent life-threatening hemorrhage and/or ischemic events. The exact risks pregnancy, labor, and delivery for MMD patients is unknown. The aim of this study was to determine if the choice of spinal anesthesia versus general anesthesia would have a significant effect on the intraoperative mean arterial pressure in MMP patients undergoing cesarean section.
