Abstract

Measurements of magnetic excitations at T=14K in La0.8Ca0.2MnO3 reveal discontinuities in the q dependence of the energy dispersion. Measurements of phonon modes show that the magnetic excitations coincide with dispersed lattice excitations over a large energy range. We conclude to the magneto-vibrationnal origin of these magnetic excitations.
