Abstract
Abstract Spin states of methylenes produced from least-motion dissociation of ethylene were clarified by a semi-empirical CI method. Three lower-lying 1Ag states of D2h, methylene-dimer at Rcc=∞ were expressed in terms of the valence orbitals of two methylenes, and the states of two methylenes correlating to these states were determined.
