Abstract
Magnetic field effects are reported from radical combination reactions involving electronically excited diphenylmethyl and para-substituted benzyl radicals created, along with a ground-state radical, by laser flash photolysis of micellized ketones. A parallel CIDEP study of ground-state radicals displayed inverse behaviour. The results are thought to shed light on the diffusional processes occurring in micellar solutions.
