Abstract

Magnetic properties of single-phase perovskite YbCr0.5Fe0.5O3 are investigated in this manuscript. The single-phase perovskite YbCr0.5Fe0.5O3 exhibits spin reorientation between 25 and 50 K and exchange bias phenomenon between 50 K and Néel temperature (TN). It is proposed that the exchange bias effect mechanism in single-phase perovskite YbFe0.5Cr0.5O3 compound is due to the ferromagnetic (FM) coupling between the Yb3+ and Fe3+/Cr3+. The Yb3+ has a tendency to rotate with the external field during the demagnetization of the hysteresis loop, and the FM coupling between the Yb3+ and Fe3+/Cr3+ has a pinning effect on it, hindering its rotation. Thus, the exchange bias phenomenon occurs. According to exchange bias field of the training effect in single-phase perovskite YbFe0.5Cr0.5O3 compound, the exchange bias field can maintain a stable state after several field cycles.
