Abstract
We estimated hypernuclear and Λ-spin polarizations produced in the ( π +, K +) and ( K −, π −) reactions. The depolarization effects due to γ-transtions and particle emissions are taken into account to get the final polarization before the weak decay. A measurement of the weak-decay pion asymmetry from the polarized 5 Λ He is shown to be promising.
