Abstract

AbstractSpin polarization and conductance quantization of three‐dimensional ferromagnetic saddle‐point contacts under the influence of the molecular fields are studied. The results indicate that the molecular fields modify the quantized conductance and spin polarization, and the change is different for spin‐up and spin‐down electrons. The larger the molecular field, the higher is the degree of the spin polarization. Quantized conductance of odd integer multiples of appears and the spin degeneracy is removed, which agrees with the experiment. (© 2004 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
