Abstract

The spin polarisation of electrons scattered elastically from lead has been calculated using the Dirac-Fock equations for the continuum electron. The scattering potential comprises the electrostatic potential, in the frozen-core approximation, and the model target polarisation potential. The obtained results have been compared with the available experimental and theoretical data.
