Abstract

The spin of the 937 \ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{} 1-keV level in $^{54}\mathrm{Co}$ was determined by exciting that level with the reaction $^{54}\mathrm{Fe}(p,n)^{54}\mathrm{Co}$ and measuring the angular distributions of the neutrons which populate this level and of the subsequent $\ensuremath{\gamma}$-ray decay. On the basis of the analysis of the results, a spin of 1 was assigned to this level.
