Abstract

Muon capture rates in complex nuclei are calculated on basis microscopic models of nuclear structure. The calculation results are consistent with experimental values, unsuppressed spin-isospin transitions, and in contrast to the data obtained from the cross sections for nuclear charge-exchange (p, n) and (n, p) reactions.
