Abstract

Antiproton-deuteron scattering is analyzed within the Glauber theory, accounting for the full spin dependence of the underlying \({\bar{N}N}\) amplitudes. The latter are taken from the Julich \({\bar{N}N}\) models and from a recently published new partial-wave analysis of \({\bar{p}p}\) scattering data. Predictions for differential cross sections and the spin observables \({A_y^d}\), \({A_y^{\bar{p}}}\), Axx, Ayy are presented for antiproton beam energies up to about 300 MeV. The efficiency of the polarization buildup for antiprotons in a storage ring is investigated.
