Abstract

Dynamics for localized spin-wave packets (localized magnons) are studied in a two-component ultra-cold atom system trapped in one-dimensional optical lattices. The centre of the Gaussian wave packet produced in a ferromagnetic chain shows Bloch oscillations under an additional transverse gradient magnetic field, which can be applied to measure the many-body superexchange interaction between the nearest-neighbour atoms.
