Abstract

We have investigated spin dependencies of the survival probability of spin-polarized cesium atoms scattered at Fe(0 0 1) in the resonant charge transfer process theoretically taking the difference of the spin densities of states of the surface between majority and minority spins into account. The survival probability was found sensitive to the spin DOS and to have strong dependence on the perpendicular velocity and incident angle when the spin polarization is parallel to the majority spin.
