Spin dependent interactions in the excitations of atoms and molecules

Abstract

Systematic studies on spin dependent interactions in the excitation, ionization of atoms and dissociative excitation of molecules have been performed with spin polarized electrons. The electron exchange, spin-orbit interaction and internal spin-orbit coupling have been characterized by the measurement of integrated Stokes parameters of the decay radiation from the excited targets for various collision processes.
