Abstract
We discuss some aspects of the problem of spin currents in magneticnanostructures. One of them is related to the proper deflnition of the spincurrent and is generic for any electronic or magnetic system. Using thestandard method related to the symmetry with respect to local spin trans-formations, we analyze the generation of equilibrium spin currents in inho-mogeneous magnetic structures. As an example we consider the generationof persistent spin current in a mesoscopic ring.PACS numbers: 72.25.
