Abstract
Abstract We have prepared spin-crossover [FeL2(NCS)2] complexes chelated with alkylated N-(di-2-pyridylmethylene)anilines. The wider irreversible thermal loop across room temperature was observed with the longer alkyl chain introduced (ΔTC = ca. 90 K for a n-C16H33 derivative). Pressurization prohibits the solid–solid phase transition, leading to the reversible spin crossover.
