Abstract

Based on an effective potential U(r) = ac/2(1+0)r2 and the relativistic quark model for baryons, the coupling between a pion, a nucleon and a (1232) is calculated. The pion admixtures for the three-quark nucleon wavefunction indicate that this approach has similar properties to the chiral quark model. Our numerical results for the nucleon observables agree qualitatively with the chiral quark model.
