Abstract

Clinical Trials Spilker's Guide to Clinical Trials on CD-ROM includes two of Spilker's books, Guide to Clinical Trials (1991) and Patient Recruitment in Clinical Trials (1992), plus 11 chapters of previously unpublished material. In total, the volume includes 157 chapters on practical aspects of the planning and conduct of clinical trials, particularly pharmaceutical industry The bulk of the material included in the CD-ROM has already been reviewed in the pages of JAMA . 1 The reviewer concluded that Spilker's work was ... unique in its scope and breadth... an essential component of the library of anyone involved in conducting clinical trials.
