Abstract

Chemotherapy agents such as cyclophosphamide (Cy) and doxorubicin (D) act through diverse mechanisms of action. We have previously shown that both agents result in apoptotic death of human primordial follicles. Sphingosine-1-Phosphate (S1P) is a ceramide-induced death pathway inhibitor. Our aim was to elucidate whether S1P can prevent Cy or D-induced apoptotic follicle death in human ovarian xenografts.
