Abstract
Drones are becoming a part of our lives, but its noise pollution is an annoying problem. In this paper, we propose a spherical sector harmonics based noise reduction method that can reduce the directional drone tonal noise. The method works for both continuous secondary sources and discrete secondary sources. To address power limitations in real applications, simulations are conducted under a secondary source power constraint to investigate the noise reduction performance for different secondary source setups. The proposed directional noise reduction method is also feasible for applications that aim to reduce directional noise and have restrictions to conduct measurements in a directional region.
