Abstract
Information systems abound, as do their abbreviations (INIS, UNISIST, SPIN, etc), but some users claim that all of them fall short of meeting the real needs of the working scientist. This is the view of Ajit Singh, Michael Luke and Irving Jenks of Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd who in the Journal of Chemical Documentation (vol 14 p36) suggest their own, user oriented scheme SPEEDI (system for the publication and efficient, effective dissemination of information).
