Abstract

This paper presents a speed control of a permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) with a single current sensor. A phase current reconstruction algorithm is developed which requires a modification of the Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) control law. This latter produces high magnitude of harmonics around switching frequencies, which can cause vibration, acoustic noise and electromagnetic interference. To solve these problems, a spectral spreading via a Random Modified SVPWM is proposed. The originality of this work is the combination of speed controller using single current sensor and the spectral spreading techniques.
