Abstract

The speed of sound has been measured in eicosane and docosane at temperatures from 323 to 393 K up to 150 MPa by a pulse technique working at 3 MHz. The speed of sound data, combined with atmospheric density measurements, were then used to evaluate the density and the isentropic and isothermal compressibilities in the same range of temperature and pressure.
