Abstract

This paper presents the speed estimation of three-phase induction motor using Kalman filter. The state variables of this method are stator current and rotor flux. The estimation of the speed is also considered as a state. The Kalman filter uses the measured quantities such as stator voltages and currents for calculation. The results obtained by the simulation and the experiment show that the estimated values of the proposed method are near to the actual value. These values can track the actual values even though the load are varied.
