Abstract

Based on a SISO non-linear model of a 4-phase variable reluctance (VR) motor without saturation in a normal form the analysis and design of a speed control system for a 4 phases VR motor is developed. This model assumes an appropriate logic on the driver or power inverter in order to achieve a simple structure for each phase of the motor. This paper represents a first approach in which a controller based on the classical non-linear state feedback linearization followed by PI control is applied. Using parametric information of a real VR motor digital simulations demonstrate that the proposed controller satisfies performance conditions and robustness to load perturbations.
