Abstract

The stability of a marginally outer trapped surface is determined by a sign condition on the principal eigenvalue of a certain linear, elliptic operator L. We consider L on a spatial cross section of the event horizon of the two-parameter family of stationary Myers-Perry black hole spacetimes with equal angular momenta in orthogonal planes. We determine explicitly the spectrum of L.
