Abstract

In a previous paper (1) we have proposed a new approach to the study for hypernuclei. The binding energies of hypernuelei are reproduced semi-quanti tat ively as the eigenvalue problem of the radial SchrSdinger equation, in which the core nucleus is treated as a single enti ty and the potential between the hyperon and the nucleus is considered of Hulthen type with appropriate bonding factor, corresponding to the multi-nucleon character of the core. The purpose of this paper is to take into account the structure of the core nucleus more precisely, confining solely to the s-shell and p-shell hypernuclei. The method is extended so as to include the spin dependence of the potential as well as the chargesymmetry-viola t ing nature of the hyperon.nucleon interaction. The model thus developed explains the binding as well as excitation energies of hypernuelei in a consistent manner with the available information. We also estimate the absolute value of the branching probability of the picnic-decay width of s-shell hypernuclei for the A = 3 and 4 eases. Let us define the hyperonmucleus potent ial in the forms
