Abstract

Absorption spectra of single crystals of two holmium complexes, K 3[Ho(NTA) 2(H 2O] · 5H 2O ( I) and enH 2+ 2 · [Ho 2(α-picolinate) 8] · 6H 2O ( II), are analysed it terms of Judd-Ofelt theory. The results are compared to those of analogous isomporphous neodymium compounds.
