Abstract
Absorption spectra of single crystals of K 3[Nd(NTA) 2(H 2O)] · 5H 2O and (C 2N 2H 10) [Nd 2(α-picolinate) 8] · 6H 2O were measured. The results are analysed in terms of Judd-Ofelt theory. The role of dynamic (polarization) mechanism contribution to the oscillator strengths is discussed.
