Abstract

A study of the spectroscopy and decay properties of the B and $\ensuremath B_s$ mesons is carried out within the framework of the phenomenological quark-antiquark potential model using the Hydrogenic and the Gaussian wave function. The spin-hyperfine, spin-orbit and the tensor interactions are employed to obtain the pseudoscalar and vector meson masses incorporating the effect of mixing. The decay constants $\ensuremath (f_{P/V})$ are computed using the wave function at the origin. The leptonic branching fractions, electromagnetic transition rates and mixing parameters of the B and $\ensuremath B_{s}$ are also calculated in this scheme. Our predictions are in good agreement with the experimental results as well as the lattice and other theoretical models.
