Abstract

One of the new directions in the recording of optical information is the use of heavymetal halide photolayers on organic matrices. Particular attention is directed toward bismuth halides, especially the chlorides (see, e.g., [i]). However, the nature of these reactive substrates and the details of the photochemical and the subsequent dark processes are not yet fully understood. These facts stimulated our interest in a detailed study of the photolysis of systems containing bismuth(III) chlorides, using the most informative methods for the given purpose the spectroscopic methods.
