Abstract

Polysiloxane, M̄n = 2,800, was fully functionalized by Platinum catalyzed hydrosilation of vinylalkyl terminated cinnamic p-substituted phenyl esters. Progress of the reaction was observed from the reduction of the vibrational absorption band of the Si-H group using FTIR measurement. Polymer films prepared by casting on a quartz cell and on a KBr window (for measurements of UV- and IR-spectra respt.) were irradiated with a Hg lamp. Change of UV- and IR-spectra with irradiation time were recorded. It was found that polymer with aryl substituent group inhibited the photoreaction.
