Abstract

Antiferroelectric systems are identified by an internal sublattice polarization that is typically hidden from experimental probes. An analysis of the far-infrared polar lattice dynamics in the model antiferroelectric francisite reveals a spectroscopic signature that scales with the sublattice polarization.
