Abstract
The FT-IR, FT-Raman, UV and fluorometric spectra of 2-pyridinenecarboxylic acid(2PCA) and light lanthanide 2-pyridinecarboxylates were recorded, assigned and analyzed. The effect of lanthanide ions on the electronic system of ligand was discussed. The obtained spectroscopic results were compared with the previously published ones for alkali, alkaline, 3d and 4f transitional metal pyridinecarboxylates and benzoates. Moreover the effect of nitrogen position in the ring on the stabilization or perturbation of the electronic system of ligands by metal cations was discussed.
