Abstract

1. The adsorption of propylene onto the surface of aluminum oxide and onto a mixed nickel — aluminum oxide catalyst was studied spectrally. 2. Propylene is not chemisorbed onto the catalysts we studied up to 250°, but at increased temperatures it is decomposed forming a number of surface carbonate — carboxylate structures. 3. The desorption of propylene cannot be the limiting reaction step during the dehydration of isopropanol.
