Spectroscopic evidence for intermediates formed by reaction of alkoxides with [(η 7-C 7H 7(CO) 3]BF 4 (M = Mo, W)

Abstract

Spectroscopic evidence is presented for low temperature intermediates, involving initial metal attack and carbonyl attack, in the nucleophilic addition of methoxide ions to [(η 7-C 7H 7)M(CO) 3]BF (M = Mo, W).
