Abstract

In a previous study of the hexagonal 12-layer perovskites Ba 2B IITeO 6 with B IINi and Zn, we observed a somewhat different X-ray powder diagram and infrared (i.r.) spectrum for the cobalt compound. In the present paper, we point out how vibrational spectroscopy and X-ray powder diffraction can be used to propose an ordered hexagonal six-layer perovskite structure for Ba 2CoTeO 6.
